Frequently Asked Questions
My daughter does not have any experience?
Our studio non-competitive classes are a great start to introduce you to our program if you are a beginner dancer. We offer combination classes to help your dancer gain confidence and to teach them basic dance steps through choreography, across the floor combinations, stretching, and Ballet technique. Our non-competitive programs perform twice during the year at both the Winter and Spring Showcases.
How do I register?
All registration occurs online through the portal. You can click the link on the homepage or anywhere on our site that says "Register." If you have forgotten your login password, simply follow the prompts to change your password.
What ages do you accept?
We accept dancers ages 3-18 years. For our Toddlers and Kinders, we do require that they be potty trained prior to attending class.
How can I pay?
You can pay your monthly tuition or session fees in a number of ways:
1. Cash payment at the Front Desk
2. Check--you can either drop off a check at the Front Desk or have your bank send us a monthly check
3. Credit or Debit Card--we do have a 3% processing fee for any card transactions whether that's through your online portal or in-studio
*There is no additional fee for cash or check payments.*
What is the breakdown of fees?

I would like to set up recurring monthly payments/automatically charge my credit/debit card on file?
Please contact the Front Desk if you wish to have the card on file charged each month or set up to automatic payment.
I've tried calling and emailing with no response.
Thank you for contacting us. Please note that we are a small family owned business and because a majority of our classes our held in the evenings following school, our staff is typically not in-studio in the mornings-early afternoons. We do work quickly on returning your messages though. If you call or email in the evenings with on response, our Office Manager maybe unavailable at that time. We thank you for your patience.
Can my dancer take a trial class before we register?
Absolutely, yes! We allow dancers to try out a class prior to proceeding with the full registration process to ensure that they love the class. Each trial class is $25 and if they love it and you continue with registration, then that $25 will go towards your Studio Membership Fee.
We do recommend that your dancer attends the actual class that you intend to register for. In addition, it is best if you go ahead and register online to place your dancer on the roster so that we expect them for a trial and that they do not lose their spot in class should the class fill up.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are considered on a case to case basis. Please contact our Office Manager for further information.
What are the Showcases about?
We hold two performances during the year for our non-competitive programs--the Winter Showcase and Spring Showcase! In class, your dancer will practice choreography that they will then perform onstage. Our Winter show is held in our Gym at DW typically the first weekend in December and the Spring recital is held at The Stafford Centre typically the first weekend in May.
Can we opt out of the Showcases?
Yes, you can, however it is very rare that dancers opt out of the performances. You will not be charged Showcase Performance Fees and please know that your dancer will not receive a costume on costume pick-up day.
What is your dress attire?
Please view the "Classroom Attire" page from the drop down menu.
How do I become a member of the Dance Works Company?
We require your dancer to attend at least 1 year in our non-competitive program to gain skills and experience required to become apart of our competitive team. Auditions for The Company are held in May with a last evaluation during the Summer.
